Our task for this project was to design and build an online auction website that would allow Collars for a Cause and SNAP to auction off one-of-a-kind collars in efforts to raise money for the Spay-Neuter Assistance Program. We used Kalibrate, our website management solution to do just that.
Interface Design The Collars for a Cause unique logo was our starting point. We wanted to design a site that was fun, colorful, simple, and user-friendly, but represented their organiztion and the pets. Conceptually we wanted to use pieces of the collar to create interface elements for buttons, to present sponsor logos, for page headers, and labels.
Online Auction Website Solution Utilizing the Kalibrate framework we were able to build an online auction website solution to fit the specific needs for this project. We implemented workflow that allows Collars for a Cause to quickly add their one-of-a-kind collars, plus other auction packages, to the site and allow the public to bid on them. Each auction item was setup with custom properties so they can add a starting bid, bid increments, bidding start date & time, bidding end date & time, share & social media features, auction item description, multiple detailed images, and donor information.
On the auction details page we implemented workflow to allow the public to place their bids right there on the screen and we create a bid history so bidders can see the ongoing bidding process.
BrainTree Payment Solutions API Integration Collars for a Cause used BrainTree Payment Solutions to help safely store the credit card information for their bidders. Because of Kalibrate’s flexibility our development team was able to easily integrate the registration process with BrainTree’s .NET API creating a secure environment for their bidders.
